INTERN
Hi, I’m Brit!
I’m currently completing my practicum placement at The Walk Counseling while pursuing my Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling. For the past eight years, I’ve been honored to work in community mental health, where I’ve supported people from all walks of life. My experience has included teaching life skills to adults, offering therapeutic probation services to youth in rural areas, supervising staff at a recovery high school, and most recently, supporting families through a therapeutic foster care program.
My approach to therapy is person-centered and trauma-informed, which means I believe in meeting you where you are, honoring your story, and walking alongside you with empathy, respect, and collaboration. I value creating a safe, supportive space where you feel truly heard and understood.
Some of my areas of interest include:
Navigating life transitions and changes
Mood and personality disorders
Parenting support and family challenges
Substance use and co-occurring disorders
Building resilience and self-compassion
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples, and I’m committed to providing culturally sensitive care that’s tailored to your unique needs.
If you feel we might be a good fit, I’d love to connect. Reaching out is a courageous first step, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
