CLINICIAN
Stephaine Chu is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Mental Health Service Provider who works with individuals ages 8 and up. She is passionate about supporting clients through life’s challenges while helping them build deeper self-understanding, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of agency in their lives.
Stephaine has experience working with military members, first responders, and their families as they navigate the unique stressors and transitions that can come with those roles and lifestyles. She also works with individuals experiencing grief and loss, trauma, cultural transitions, and other significant life changes.
Her approach to counseling is relational, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. Stephaine primarily utilizes Relational Cultural Therapy, which focuses on helping clients find healing, growth, and meaning through connection and relationships. She also incorporates holistic interventions such as mindfulness and movement-based practices when appropriate for each client’s needs.
Depending on the goals of the individual, Stephaine may also draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
Stephaine has specialized training in grief and loss interventions, including traumatic loss and non-death losses for children and adolescents (CTG). Her goal is to create a space where clients feel supported, empowered, and safe to show up as they are.
Stephaine hopes that clients leave counseling with a deeper knowledge of and love for themselves, allowing them to more confidently advocate for the life they want and deserve.
